Tomball Educational Complex - Project Highlight

Building in Texas since 1981, we've covered a lot of ground.

Our 43 years of experience in Texas and 154 years around the globe means we have a lot of experience across various markets.

Our projects range from ground-up 47-story high rises in downtown Houston, to renovations of an international airport terminal, to state-of-the-art educational complexes all in the greater Houston area. Just like our company’s experience, our team’s experience varies, with many team members drawing knowledge and expertise from a breadth of markets and delivery methods.

Our work at the Tomball Educational Complex was certainly no exception. The 225-acre Elmer & Dorothy Beckendorf Educational Complex, in a growth area for Tomball ISD, included a junior high school, elementary school, and district stadium. Our team was able to draw from previous experience within the K-12 market, as well as the commercial and healthcare markets.

Grand Oaks Elementary - A Collaborative Approach with Our Design Partner
Many of our team members had previously worked with the project architect on a number of projects and were familiar with their design process. The team worked collaboratively with our design partners early in the project to identify challenges and solutions to overcome them. This, coupled with the long-standing, relationship allowed the team to anticipate potential issues with the design based on their previous project experience and current market trends. During the design phase, team members submitted RFIs that were instrumental in keeping the construction schedule on track. This coordination directly prevented extensive potential cost and schedule impacts on the construction phase.

Grand Oaks Elementary - Management of Permanent Power Prevents Delay
Faced with a four-month delay in obtaining permanent power for Grand Oaks Elementary School, recovery plans were implemented to ensure work progressed as scheduled and finished work was not affected. Our team was able to draw on their combined extensive knowledge to establish temporary work zones with HVAC systems for temperature- and humidity-sensitive work. Materials and equipment that required permanent power were stored off-site and on-site until they were available. A fast-track schedule was then developed for the final installation of critical items. The school was opened on time for students as planned.
