Golf for a Cause: Gilbane Holds its 11th Annual Gilbane Charity Golf Tournament

The 11th Annual Gilbane Charity Golf Tournament took place on October 30 at St. Ives Country Club in Johns Creek, GA. More than 120 subcontractors attended and were treated to raffles, golfing contests and food and drink throughout the day. This year we were able to donate $80,000 -- our biggest contribution yet -- to the American Red Cross, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Covenant House of Georgia and the National Kidney Foundation. Many thanks to all who helped make this event a success!

Putting on the Pink: Augusta University Team Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

To support AU and raise awareness for National Breast Cancer Month the Augusta University Cancer Research team wore custom pink shirts and hoisted a massive banner with the statement “Stronger than Cancer.” The team was even featured on local news stations to further the cause. Throughout October they continued to wear their Putting on the Pink shirts every Thursday to remind everyone of this serious disease.

Gilbane Celebrates Our Subcontractor Partners

In May we held our Annual Subcontractor Appreciation Social. The event celebrates our diverse subcontractor community and all they do to make our projects a success. We'd especially like to thank the following firms who received Outstanding Performance Awards:

Strack, Inc.
Tindall Corporation
Universal Steel, Inc.
SDS Concrete Construction
PAL Environmental Services
McKinney Drilling Company
Polk County Public Service

And congratulations to 1st Choice Glass for being awarded Trade Contractor of the Year!

Serving the Covenant House Youth

We had the pleasure of cooking dinner, a delicious taco salad, for the residents at Covenant House back in November. Our team not only prepared a meal, they ate with and go to know some of the kids staying there. Covenant House provides shelter, meals, love and support to homeless and trafficked youth. The group supports its youths by empowering them to finish high school or start college, gain employment and live independently.
